Terms of Service

Effective: October 22, 2026 (revised — announced October 15, 2026; previous version effective September 6, 2026. Changed: Section 2 built-in note categories from eight to nine (Journal added); the scope of the third-party and medical items in Section 3)

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Sebren (the "Service"), operated by kez-works, a sole proprietorship registered in the Republic of Korea, represented by JIN HA RIN("we," "us," "our," or the "Company"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. The Service is intended for users aged 14 and older.

1. Purpose and Definitions

These Terms set out the basic conditions for using the Service. The following terms have the meanings given below:

  • Service— Sebren, which connects and relays a user's own GitHub repository to claude.ai through the Model Context Protocol (MCP).
  • User — any person who agrees to these Terms and uses the Service.
  • Repository— the GitHub repository owned by the User that the Service connects to and uses as the User's own file store.
  • Note — any document, file, or other content the User saves to the Repository through the Service.

2. Service Description and BYO Structure

  • The Service sets up a connection that lets a User use their own GitHub repository as a personal file store from claude.ai, and relays claude.ai's read and write requests to that repository.
  • The content of a User's Notes is stored in the User's own GitHub repository. The Service does not retain the original content on its own servers (Bring Your Own Storage, "BYO"). For response speed, a temporary copy of Note content and its search index may be held on the Service's servers for up to 10 minutes before automatic deletion.
  • All nine built-in note categories are available on every plan. Plans differ only in monthly write allowance and price. Reading and searching are unlimited on every plan.

3. User Responsibilities and Prohibited Conduct

Users must not store the following categories of sensitive information in a Note:

  • National ID numbers, passport numbers, or other unique identifiers
  • Bank account numbers, card numbers, or other financial information
  • Passwords, authentication credentials, or other account secrets
  • Information that identifies a third party, such as their national ID number, contact details, or address (mentioning someone's name or your relationship to them in your own everyday records is not covered)
  • Medical record documents, such as original clinical records or test results (notes about your own condition or a hospital visit are not covered)

Notes are stored in the User's own GitHub repository and pass through the Service's servers only temporarily, as part of the connection and relay process. The User is responsible for any harm arising from storing the sensitive information listed above. Users must not use the Service to violate any law or infringe the rights of others.

4. Plans, Fees, Free Trial, and Cancellation

  • The Free plan includes 100 saves (write operations) per month. Reading, searching, and browsing are unlimited on every plan, including Free.
  • Paid plans available through Polar (see below) are Lite at $5/month, including 500 saves per month, and Pro at $12/month, including 1,500 saves per month. Paid plans renew automatically every month, on a cycle anchored to the date of your first payment.
  • New users receive a free trial with Lite-level limits for the trial period stated at sign-up. No payment method is required during the trial.
  • Before you add a payment method, we confirm the plan you selected, the monthly charge, and the automatic renewal cycle, and we obtain your agreement to them.
  • International payments in US dollars are processed by Polar Software Inc. ("Polar"), acting as the Merchant of Record. When you pay in USD through Polar, your purchase contract for that transaction is with Polar, Polar is the seller and payee of record, your receipt is issued in Polar's name, and Polar is responsible for calculating, collecting, and remitting any applicable sales tax or VAT on the transaction.
  • Customers billed in Korean Won (KRW) are charged through PortOne, using KG Inicis as the payment gateway, under the separate Korean-language billing terms published on our Korean-language Terms of Service page. This paragraph applies only to KRW billing; it does not apply to USD payments processed by Polar.
  • You may cancel the Service at any time. Canceling does not affect your ownership of your GitHub repository or your Notes — they remain yours.
  • Refunds and withdrawal rights are handled under our separate Refund Policy, applicable law, and your actual usage record. See our Refund Policy for eligibility rules, the request process, and processing time.

5. Refunds

Refund eligibility, the request process, and processing timeframes are set out in our Refund Policy, published as a separate document and linked from this page and from our site navigation. The Refund Policy applies to all paid plans regardless of payment method.

6. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided on an "as-is" basis. This does not limit our liability for damage caused to you by our intentional misconduct or gross negligence.

Where we have not acted with intentional misconduct or gross negligence, our liability for damage arising from the following is limited to the extent permitted by applicable law:

  • Damage caused by your own fault, including storing sensitive information in violation of Section 3, or failing to safeguard your account or authentication credentials
  • Damage caused by the failure, policy change, or discontinuation of a third-party service we rely on (including GitHub, Anthropic, Cloudflare, Polar, or PortOne)
  • Damage caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters

7. Intellectual Property

  • You retain all rights to the Notes you create. The Service processes them only to the extent necessary to provide the connection and relay described in Section 2.
  • All rights in the Service's software, design, and trademarks belong to the Company or its licensors. You may not copy, distribute, or modify them without authorization.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may change these Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law. When we do, we will give advance notice of the change and its effective date. If you continue using the Service after the effective date, you are considered to have accepted the revised Terms.

9. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea. Any dispute arising from your use of the Service will be brought before a court of competent jurisdiction as determined under applicable law.

Where you pay in USD through Polar as Merchant of Record, Polar's own Merchant of Record Terms govern the payment transaction itself between you and Polar.
